V. has been working together with the Special Initiative \u201eDecent work for a just transition\u201c on a broad-based project in the Republic of Senegal. The aim is to jointly contribute to the promotion of the physical and digital infrastructure of the health sector of the West African state:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-md-6\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/african-german-health-association.de\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/invest-for-job.jpg\" class=\"img-fluid d-block mx-auto\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-md-6 align-self-center\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/african-german-health-association.de\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/AGHAeV-Logo.png\" class=\"img-fluid d-block mx-auto\" width=\"274\">\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section-lightgrey\">\n<div class=\"container\">\n<div class=\"row text-center\">\n<div class=\"col-md-12\">\n<h3 class=\"mb-5\">The joint project focuses on six main areas:<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row mb-5\">\n<div class=\"col-md-6\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/african-german-health-association.de\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/senegal-img1.jpg\" class=\"img-fluid d-block mx-auto\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-md-6\">\n<h4>1. Digital IHE-based eHealth infrastructure<\/h4>\n<p>WHO saw the digitalisation of health care based on global standards as an opportunity for African countries to provide effective health care in all settings. Integral sub-components within the project were the establishment of an IHE training system, the training of local IT experts &#038; system administrators and key users, and the exchange with international IT\/IHE experts. During the programme, participants from three hospitals and three to five SMEs were trained. The explicit objective was a national implementation that went hand in hand with an improvement in health care and the creation of jobs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row mb-5\">\n<div class=\"col-md-6 order-md-2\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/african-german-health-association.de\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/senegal-img2.jpg\" class=\"img-fluid d-block mx-auto\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-md-6 order-md-1\">\n<h4>2. Sant\u00e9 Cloud &#038; Data Accelerator Senegal<\/h4>\n<p>In order to meet today\u2019s demands on the health sector, it was of great importance to train more people in digital skills related to the many health activities and thus job creation. The Health Cloud &#038; Data Accelerator programme trained 110 participants in three groups. It was important to train more people in digital skills related to the numerous health activities and the creation of employment. As part of the initiative, with the health cloud and the data accelerator, 110 participants were trained in three groups.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row mb-5\">\n<div class=\"col-md-6\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/african-german-health-association.de\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/senegal-img3.jpg\" class=\"img-fluid d-block mx-auto\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-md-6\">\n<h4>3. Hospital planning and design<\/h4>\n<p>Hospital planning and design laid the foundation for the efficiency and sustainability of any hospital construction. During intensive workshops and seminars, participants were taught expertise from the various phases, e.g. RIBA, design, architecture, medical technology planning, etc. Participants learned to apply the acquired knowledge in a case study on the development of a maternity hospital.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row mb-5\">\n<div class=\"col-md-6 order-md-2\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/african-german-health-association.de\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/senegal-img4.jpg\" class=\"img-fluid d-block mx-auto\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-md-6 order-md-1\">\n<h4>4. Management and maintenance of hospital equipment<\/h4>\n<p>This sub-project developed a training course tailored to the local needs of Senegal for hospital staff responsible for the provision and functioning of medical and non-medical equipment. The course included modules on management and maintenance of equipment. The aim was to qualify at least 60 participants.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row mb-5\">\n<div class=\"col-md-6\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/african-german-health-association.de\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/senegal-img5.jpg\" class=\"img-fluid d-block mx-auto\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-md-6\">\n<h4>5. Qualification of management staff in hospitals<\/h4>\n<p>We developed a tailor-made curriculum for the management level in hospitals with local stakeholders, and conducted the first trainings with 140 participants from all over Senegal in the course of the project.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row mb-5\">\n<div class=\"col-md-6 order-md-2\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/african-german-health-association.de\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/senegal-img1.jpg\" class=\"img-fluid d-block mx-auto\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-md-6 order-md-1\">\n<h4>6. Training for the Institut Pasteur<\/h4>\n<p>The Institut Pasteur de Dakar \u2013 the leading laboratory in Senegal \u2013 was planning a significant specialization in vaccines, including the vaccine against the Covid-19 virus.
