Research Project on Cultural Differences<\/h1>\n

Exploratory study on cultural differences and development of an intercultural training course for foreign nursing staff.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

A group of fifth-semester students from the International School of Management (ISM) Hamburg carried out an extensive research project on behalf of the African German Health Association e. V. (AGHA). The aim of the project was to examine the cultural differences between Kenya and Germany and, on this basis, to develop an online preparatory course for nursing professionals from Kenya who will work in Germany in the future.

Project Process<\/h3>\n

At the beginning of the project, a desk study was conducted to review existing literature and research on intercultural communication and nursing in an international context. This was followed by semi-structured interviews with nursing professionals from Kenya and Germany in order to capture practical insights and personal experiences.<\/p>\n

Based on the findings, an online course was then designed and implemented with the support of artificial intelligence (AI). The course includes digital learning materials and video content specifically addressing the challenges and cultural differences encountered in the daily work of nursing professionals. Throughout the project, scientific and organizational requirements were also taken into account, for example through the use of project management tools such as Gantt charts and digital planning solutions.<\/p>\n

The project results were presented in November 2025 at ISM Hamburg to the AGHA board as part of a comprehensive final presentation. Since then, the developed online course has been available free of charge to nursing professionals from Kenya and is already being actively used to facilitate cultural onboarding in Germany and to promote intercultural collaboration in the healthcare sector.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
